The Mission of Our Lady of Fatima, Governing Policies & Rules.
The purpose of The Mission of Our Lady of Fatima is to provide a haven, a retreat, a place of peace and tranquility. In this place a person will be able to sit quietly and pray. To contemplate their innermost thoughts. To dwell on the mystery and the blessing promised in the words of The Blessed Mother, in her many apparitions. To contemplate the power behind the word of God. To seek His devine help.
To simply rest and take a moment out from the busy world.
- The primary function of The Mission is the Advancement of The Christian Religion,
through following the teaching of Christ, that the Mission may fulfill the following:
- The Mission of Our Lady of Fatima is a nonprofit institution organised
for the direct relief of poverty, sickness, suffering, distress, misfortune,
disability or helplessness. It is set up for needs that require benevolent
relief. It relieves those needs by directly providing services to
people suffering from the aforementioned. It is carried on for the
public benefit. It is a nonprofit Institution. Its purpose is the
provision of benevolent relief, and for the benefit of the community,
or a section of it.
- In the areas where the Abbey and Chapel are built - that is the
surrounding community, such provisions as are available will be to
provide for those who arouse pity or compassion in the community through
such situations arising in article 1.
- The Mission of Our Lady of Fatima accepts that men and women are
equally the children of God, and of equal importance in His eyes.
- The Mission of Our Lady of Fatima upholds the position of The Blessed
Mother as the Mother of Christ, and through Her grace, the mother
of all of us.
- The Mission of Our Lady of Fatima upholds that The Blessed Mother
is able to help us human beings of any race creed or colour in our
travels through life, and especially during the final journey into
Gods Grace.
- The Mission has a foundation in the Universal Church - Catholic.
Which is not necessarily the Roman Catholic faith, but has a lot in
common with this faith.
- The Mission of Our Lady of Fatima is not a religion.
- Daily devotions are required for those formally becoming part of
The Mission. This is either made up of a few minutes of prayer at
the beginning and end of each working day, and/or will include listening
to the rich tones of Gregorian Chant or other suitable choral music,
and where people are actually so talented, singing sections taken
from Chant texts.
- Members of The Mission are encouraged to Listen. Listen to others,
listen to the word of God, Listen to the word of the Blessed Mother.
Indeed, To Listen is the Only Rule.
- Nonprofit:
The assets and income of the organisation shall be applied solely
in furtherance of its above-mentioned objects and no portion shall
be distributed directly or indirectly to the members of the organisation
except as bona fide compensation for services rendered or expenses
incurred on behalf of the organisation.
